Forest land cleared of encroachments in Bhaderwah | KNO

BHADERWAH,APR 06 (KNO) : Cracking down on encroachers, the Forest Department today retrieved 43 kanals of forest land from illegal encroachment at Compartment number 8/M Kellar range in the Sarsee Marmat locality of Bhaderwah division .

A team of officials also dismantled one temporary unauthorised structure. CF Chenab Circle T B Singh IFS said during the operation, the team faced stiff resistance from the encroachers but forest officials which included concerned range officer Zaffarullah Sheikh took prompt action and evict the encroachers and retrieve the forest land. Fencing was also erected at the spot to protect the land from land-grabbers who are quite active in some areas of Bhaderwah division and target forest and government land.“The anti-encroachment drive will continue in other areas.

The field staff has been directed to ensure strict vigil in the area to prevent any further encroachment,” said T B Singh.(KNO)
